The Fall 2007 Authors Graham Burchell* is a full-time poet and children's author, and formerly an international elementary teacher, from Dawlish, DE. Mr. Burchell has been writing since 1957. He has published work in children's novels with Author House and recently with Calderwood Books; and two volumes of poetry From the Right Side of the Pond and Vermeer's Corner. He has won first prize in the 2005 Chapter One Promotions Poetry Competition, and in the 2006 Hazel Street Productions Poetry Competition; runner up in Into Africa Poetry Competition, and the 2006 Ware Poetry Competition; and was a Pushcart Nominee in 2006. Mr. Burchell is a member of Poetry Northwest (a Houston chapter of the Poetry Society of Texas) and the Academy of American Poets. Robert Kalkreuter* is a banker from Dewy Rose, GA. Mr. Kalkreuter has been writing for so long he "can't remember that far back. (Of course, if you ask me what I had for breakfast, I'd probably say the same thing.") He has published 19 stories in magazines such as Potpourri, Reader's Break, The Soft Door, Vintage Northwest, Slugfest, and Pinehurst Journal. He won the Herman Swafford Prize for best story, Potpourri Magazine, and has two Pushcart nominations. Mr. Kalkreuter is a member of Museitupclub. Elina Kilevskaya* is a student pharmacist and pharmacy intern from Coral Springs, FL. Ms. Kilevskaya began writing in High School. She has published work in FAU Honors College Literary Magazine (Cliche), Brave Little Poem of the Day, and Bringing Sonnets Back. Susan Landon* is a humanitarian, arts and environmental advocate from W. Somerville, MA. Ms. Landon has been writing since age 10 and began seriously writing poetry in 1981. She has published work in numerous literary magazines, anthologies and on-line periodicals, such as The Aurorean, Cellar Roots, Quercus Review, Sahara and www.perigee-art.com. She won the 2001 Spare Change News Poetry Prize; the 2003 Cambridge Poetry Award --Best Modern Poem; and the 2004 Cambridge Poetry Award --Best Traditional Poem. Tom O'Connor* is a Postdoctoral Teaching Fellow at Tulane University from New Orleans, LA. Mr. has published work in Notre Dame Review, Columbia Poetry Review, Poetry Southeast, among other periodicals. Jala Pfaff* is a Spanish instructor from Boulder, CO. Ms. Pfaff has been writing for 15 years. She has published work in The Rose & Thorn, Hiss Quarterly, Stone Table Review, Word Riot, and has published a novel, Seducing the Rabbi. She won first place in State Creative Writing at age 18. Ms. Pfaff is a member of Publishers Marketing Association. Lynne Potts* is a freelance writer from New York, NY. Ms. Potts has been writing for 15 years. She has published work in Paris Review, Southern Poetry Review, Oregon East, Southern Humanities Review, Inkwell, and several others. She was a finalist for Backwards City Reviewand selected from Paris Review for Poets Daily. Ms. Potts is a member of PSA and Poets House. Aaron M. Rudolph is an instructor from Lubbock, TX. Mr. Rudolph began writing seriously ten years ago in a college course. He has published work in The Fairfield Review, Flyway, and South Dakota Review. He won second place, Sabor Hispano poetry competition. Tara Grover Smith* is a customer service and notary public from Paradise, CA. Ms. Smith has been writing since second grade. She has published work in Illya's Honey, and Boston Literary Magazine. She has won Honorable Mention for Triolet on Initials Carved into a Park Bench in Writer's Digest Rhyming Poem competition. Brian Tapfar* is a student from Davidson, NC. Mr. Tapfar has been writing for three years. He has published work in Soundings, the literary magazine of Staples High School in Westport, CT. Francine Marie Tolf* is a teacher of creative writing, literature, and composition at various schools throughout the Twin Cities area, from Minneapolis, MN. Ms. Tolf has been writing seriously for ten years. She has published work in over 40 journals, including Southern Humanities Review, Spoon River, Parva Sed Apta, 5 AM, Rattle, and The Externalist. She has won a Minnesota State Arts Board Grant; Blacklock Nature Fellowship; and Loft Mentor Series Fellowship. Ms. Tolf is a member of "a wonderful group of writers." She writes "I like crows, but they do not like me." Pat Wallace* is an MSNBC Technical Associate and recent graduate of Fairfield University, from Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Mr. Wallace Fairfield University Writing Student of the Month. This is his publishing debut! Christian Ward* is a writer from London, England. Mr. Ward has been writing since he was 25. He has published work in numerous journals, such as Nthposition, Iota, Other Poetry, Softblow, The Poetry Kit, Andwerve, Word Riot, Lily Lit Review, et al. He writes "Never give up!" Kelley White is a pediatrician from Philadelphia, PA. Ms. White has been since Mrs. Gustafson's class in third grade. She has published work in many journals, including The Fairfiled Review, several chapbooks and book-length collections. She has been nominated five times for the Pushcart prize. Ms.White is a member of the Poetry Society of New Hampshire and Mad Poets Society, in the Philadelphia area. Nancy Compton Williams* is a former English teacher from Huntsville, AL. Ms. Williams began writing as a teenager and has "been at it for over 50 years." She has published over 100 poems in journals such as Theology Today, Christianity and Literature, The Kansas Quarterly, Hiram Poetry Review, et al. She won awards sponsored by the Writer's Journal. Ms.Williams is a member of Huntsville Literary Association. *Author is appearing for the first time in The Fairfield Review. |
