Going Somewhere, Who's Going Somewhere? By Linda Lerner there & not there on Astor place with Nina Saturday July night leaning against K-Mart absurdity: crossroads of a world where out of place has place people swarming with packages anything to hold into twilight/dark... there & not there as a man packs up his wares another spreads his out from everywhere come to set up shop in our heads... must be a party someplace Nina says not budging from K-Mart window jazz taped live from one of the tables burning incense thru car exhaust spreads grass fumes stales cool and doesn't quite give that kick it once did... buying or is it selling eyes question over me but no sniper with a firecracker in his fleshed soul to send this crossroads roaring into the sky again good band at birdland Nina's voice means a subway to midtown and nobody's going anywhere tonight on Astor place |
