I quicksilver skyward
Rumble the silence
Sliver the whiteness
Spin earth upside down
Slip by Mercury
Wink at Venus
At 500 meters speed the moon in orbit
Buoyed up by nimbus
Wing tips slit sunsets
Rudder down Atlantis
Gemini sighing at 3 rpm gasps at zero
I Prometheus bound down
Yearning infinities

dedicated to Steele Scott, who started flying when he was
fourteen and has been an avid aviation enthusiast ever since.
