At the Locomotive Museum By David Thornbrugh All that remains of the great train station are these two bronze goddesses turned emerald, perhaps representing Truth and Justice, perhaps only Arrival and Departure, bullet-holed and ragged, cast up like broken sea shells on a beach of cold concrete. Deep in shadows of their own making, rows of steam locomotives stand in an odor of old grease. |
