The Fall-Winter 2000 Authors

Nan Leslie is a full-time writer from Groton, CT. Ms. Leslie has been writing short fiction "seriously for four years." She also writes a weekly newsletter for for developing writers called "The Daily Grind." Ms. Leslie has published work in The Oyster Boy Review. She has recently been nominated for the Pushcart Prize.

Tom Brennan is a freelance Data Communications Contractor from Liverpool, UK. Mr. Brennan has been writing for two years and is a member of Zoetrope All Story. The Fairfield Review is his publishing debut.

Josh Karp is a freelance journalist, and graduate student at Northwestern University, from Evanston, Illinois. Mr. Karp has been writing for three years. The Fairfield Review is his publishing debut.

Megan O'Reilly is a High School student from Enumclaw, Washington. Ms. O'Reilly has been writing "for fun" since she was five. She has published work in Speak Up Press. She recently won "Break It Down For Madonna," a poetry contest in which the winning entry was selected and signed by Madonna.. Ms. O'Reilly is a member of "I Was A Teenage Writer."

Laird Barron is a Strength Trainer from Seattle, Washington. Mr. Barron has been writing since childhood, but "steadily during the past two years." He has published work in the Melic Review, Stirring, Ixion, Adirondack Review, Vowel Movement, Undressed, and Mefisto.

Kay Day is a freelance writer from Columbia, South Carolina. Ms. Day has been writing freelance for about fifteen years. She was first published when she was six, when she read her essay on the radio. Ms. Day has published work in Perihelion, Purpose, and others. She has won the ByLine National Literary Award for Poetry; and the Carrie Allen McCray Poetry Award. Ms. Day is a member of SC Writers Workshop and the Internet Literary Editors Fellowship (associate member). She writes, "for everything you choose to pursue, something must be bartered."

Isabelle Ghaneh is an Administrative Assistant from Ridgefield, Connecticut. Ms. Ghaneh has been writing since she was a teenager. The Fairfield Review is her publishing debut.

David Meuel is a free-lance writer, specializing in speeches for corporate executives and marketing material, from Palo Alto, California. Mr. Meuel has been writing short stories, stage plays, television scripts, and poems for the past 25 years. He writes that he "began writing poetry about 10 years ago in large part because poems are short and I could actually complete several and get a few of them published every year -- a practical if not a noble reason." Mr. Meuel has published poems in university reviews and literary magazines in both the U.S. and Canada, and received a First Place award for his poetry collection, Islands in the Sky, in the 1997 National Self-published Book Awards sponsored by Writer's Digest Magazine. He also appeared in the Summer-Fall 1999 and Winter 2000 issues of The Fairfield Review.

Tom Moore is a teacher from Bellingham, Washington. Mr. Moore has been writing on and off for about 30 years. He has published work in the Red River Review, The Junkyard, Rhino, Beloit Poetry Review and others.

Justin Sherin is a playwright, director and actor from New York, New York. He is also a sophomore at Fordham University. Mr. Sherin has been writing since he can remember. He has published plays that have been performed in New York and Philadelphia. His play "I'll Be Your Mirror" was a finalist for the 1999 New Jersey Young Playwrights Prize. Mr. Sherin is a member of The Dramatists Guild.

Angela Davis Tartaglia is a retired Pre-K teacher from Dunedin, Florida. Ms. Tartaglia has been writing for five years and has only recently begun submitting work. She has published work in Poems Niederngasse, 3rd Muse Poetry Journal, The Poet's Cut, Raven Electrick, and Plain Brown Wrapper. Ms. Tartaglia is a member of the Pinellas Authors and Writers group.
