The Fall 2006 Authors


Andrea L. Alterman is a biological researcher, currently in computers, from Hastings-on-Hudson, NY. Ms. Alterman has been writing she was 10 or 11. She has published work in Red River Review, Poet Warriors, The Fairfield Review, The Littoral, Art and Scope (SUNY Oneonta). She was a finalist and won second prize in The Greenburgh Poetry Contest. Ms. Alterman is a member of Hudson Valley Writers' Center.

Robert James Berry is a librarian from North Shore City, AK. Mr. Berry has been writing for 25 years. He has published work in Ginninderra Press, Canberra, Australia and The Fairfield Review.

Jenn Blair* is a graduate student from Athens, GA. Ms. Blair began writing when she was twelve. She has published work in Christian Century, Penwood Review, MELUS, and Ancient Paths Literary Review. She won Honorable mention in the Hollins Poetry Prize competition.

Jeannine M. DeHart* is an accountant from Flemington, NJ. Ms. DeHart has been writing since the age of 12. She has published work in the book entitled "Faces of Huntington's Disease."

CB Follett* is a poet, publisher and artist from Sausalito, CA. Ms. Follett has been writing for "over half a century." She has published work in Ploughshares, Alligator Juniper, Calyx, Americas Review, Peregrine, The Cumberland Review, Rain City Review, Ambit (England), The MacGuffin, Snowy Egret, Birmingham Poetry Review, New Letters Review, and Psychology. She was the winner of the 2001 National Poetry Book Award from Salmon Run Press, won contest honors in the Billee Murray Denny, New Letters Prize, the Ann Stanford Prize, the Glimmer Train Poetry Contest and several contests . Ms. Follett is a member of Poetry Society of America, International Women's Writing Guild, and Marin Poetry Center.

Brady Golden* is a textbook editor from Oakland, CA. Mr. Golden has been writing for "all my life." He has published work in Spectrum, and ducts.org.

Harvey Goldner* is a writer from Seattle, WA. His poetry has appeared in Chelsea, Shampoo, Puerto del Sol, Pinstripe Fedora, Rattle, Wicked Alice, Exquisite Corpse, Venereal Kittens, The Sun, The Adirondack Review, Amarillo Bay, and Curious Rooms.

Sherry Ballou Hanson* is a writer, poet and author from Brunswick, ME. Ms. Hanson has been writing for publication since 1980. She has published work in many magazines, newspapers, newsletters, journals and on-line publications. She has won numerous awards for her writing on health and wellness since 1991 and for poetry since 1985. Ms.Hanson is a member of Maine Writers and Publishers Alliance and Maine Media Women. She writes "I am known for getting the job done, not giving up."

Noah Hurd* is a High School English Teacher from Mexico City, DF. Mr. Hurd has been writing for eight years. He has published work in The Blue Mouse.

Missy Dione McEwen* is a typist for an electronic clipping service from Bloomfield, CT. Ms. McEwen has been writing since she was in elementary school. She has published work in Roll Call, an anthology edited by Tony Medina; Papercut and Three Rivers Review (University of Pittsburgh literary magazines).

Heather A. McMacken* is a server from Harrison Township, MI. Ms. McMacken has been writing for about 12 years. She has published work in thedetroiter.com, and Advocate. She won the LAND Poetry Prize (Liberal Arts Network for Development), 2003-2004. Ms. McMacken is a member of Student Writers of Oakland University."

Julie L. Moore* is the Writing Center Director, at Cedarville University, Cedarville, OH. Ms. Moore has been writing seriously for the last 6 years. She published her first poetry chapbook, Election Day, from Finishing Line Press in December, 2006, and individual poems in The MacGuffin, Sou'Wester, The Sow's Ear Poetry Review, River Oak Review, and The Chaffin Journal. She won second Honorable Mention in the 2006 National Poet Hunt Contest through The MacGuffin (judged by Laurence Lieberman) and Semi-finalist (top 100 of 1400 entries) in the 2006 Sow's Ear Poetry Review Poetry Contest. Ms.Moore is a member of the American Academy of Poets. She writes..."I live my fate to the very core and rind." ~Henry David Thoreau"

Carmel L. Morse* is a fourth year Ph.D. student in English and adjunct instructor from Dayton, OH. Ms. Morse has been writing for 40 years. She has published work in Children, Churches and Daddies, Nexus, Flights, Creative Juices, and upcoming in Pudding Magazine. She has won second place, national in poetry in the League for Innovation Student Literary Competition. She writes "Poems can change the world, one poem and one reader at a time."

Michael Pontacoloni* is a student from Windsor, CT. Mr. Pontacoloni has been writing for three years. This is his debut publication.

Cesar A. Rico* is a Middle School English Language Arts Teacher from Baton Rouge, LA. Mr. Rico has been writing for since the age of nineteen . He has published work in Enigma Magazine in Philadelphia. He writes "Hope and Faith are wonderful. It's what humanity should never be without. "

Rodney Stevens* is a freelance writer from Columbia, SC. This is his poetry debut.

David Thornbrugh* is an English teacher from Krakow, NA. Mr. Thornbrugh has been writing for about 30 years. He has published work in Mississippi Mud, Prism, Poettalk, Green Hills Literary Lantern, Tiger's Eye, and other journals. He has been nominated three times for a Pushcart award.
