The Fairfield Review
About The Summer 1997 Edition
In this third issue of The Fairfield Review we are pleased to provide a variety of topics and artists from our area and beyond. For the Summer issue we have some writers returning who appeared in our Winter publication. As a continuing part of our mission, we also have a number of new writers, publishing here for the first time. In addition, this is the first issue that features work from some artists who found us on the Web and submitted their work via the Internet. We encourage more of you to follow suit and send us the best of your poetry, short stories and essays via the World Wide Web.
Among the pieces you will find in this issue is a stirring piece about memories by an anonymous author from the midwest, a poem rich in imagery and geometry from a student in New Canaan, and a short story from another member of the Writer's Voice in Fairfield.
Janet Granger, a poet from our Winter issue and co-editor at TFR, is returning with three new poems. And Gordon Edwards, author of our lead essay in the Spring issue, is returning with new poems and an essay on poetic language. You can find a complete list of this issue's writings in the table of contents and information about contributors in About the Authors.
Please send us your comments and suggestions. When you visit our site, please fill out our Guest Book or drop us a note via email. Also encourage your fellow readers and writers to visit The Fairfield Review and submit their writing for consideration in our Fall issue. We continue to encourage submissions from students and new writers, and hope to have a number of promising young adults for our "back-to-school" Fall issue.
We hope you enjoy this collection of creative writing in the short form. We wish you a pleasant season of sun, relaxation and creative pursuit. Together we look forward to following Blake's golden thread to heaven's gate.
