Days of the Weak
by Melissa Heaphy

SUNDAY-- I wanna be bigger than you,
''mall-up" my hair, wear platform shoes…

MONDAY-- I don't wanna be seen,
wear only dark clothes, hair covers my mien

TUESDAY-- I'm a child-- sent home from school
lying in bed-- is it you or me I fool?

WEDNESDAY-- I'm hopeful, with jacket and smile
try to cover each room and converse with style.

THURSDAY-- I think I'm feeling funny
don loud clothes-- disposition sunny

FRIDAY-- I don't care 'bout anything at all
mismatched and stained as I lean on the wall

SATURDAY-- Inside I feel like a man--
walk 'round in jeans and boots, I can.

TODAY-- I think I feel like Me--
I stand here naked, not sure who to be.
