2005
Peace
Peace has settled in
across the courtyard
having ridden down
on white stenciled gliders
of a new snow.
We see it
cling to the branches
of a tree not far
and we long to be out
amidst an autumn ending
silence—
away from the work
that once enlivened us
but now has become
like armor
that keeps us here
at the window
aching.
