another winter's night behind
he views again his
spare but well- loved
prospects
he has discovered
not so much sense nor importance
to other than
these small hills
this austere sky
the calendar elms and
maples
up the road are generations
gone calm
granted that knowing
a man may one day find
pleasure and contentment
things that require
very little fuss
