          Struggling With Doubt

          by Jeanne Fuller

          Is - Is
          Christ is they say,
          But I am driven
          Stumbling through debris
          Jagged disharmony
          In a world running amuck
          And suck up fear.

          Felled
          "By the stone men rejected,"
          Sprawled on the earth
          Struggling with doubt and dismay
          Wrenching the wretched rock
          Blocking the way.

          A greater wisdom
          Stays the rock,
          And Lo, the heart unlocks,
          "A stumbling stone--
          A rock of offense?" No.
          A singing stone,
          Echoing the choice--
          Christ is, is.
          I am His, His.
And the singing voice is my own.
